My name is Tony Miller. My professional journey began in 2004 when I received my certificate in psychoanalysis and began working as a therapist. In 2013 I immigrated to Canada, where I had to start my credentials from scratch. Therefore, I attended York University in Toronto and I got my honor’s degree, Master’s degree and PhD in Psychology. My Masters thesis was about video game addiction and my PhD dissertation focused on identity issues/crises in social media. In the meantime, I also got my certificate in Gestalt psychotherapy (5-year program) from Gestalt Institute of Toronto, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) certificate from University of Toronto, OISE, Clinical Supervision certificate from University of Ottawa and the Gottman Method certificate in couple therapy.
I am an independent Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and a member of College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am also a member of The Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy (CAPT). Aside from practicing psychotherapy, I am also teaching at university and college level. Some of the courses that I have taught are Development in Adolescents at York University, Fundamentals of Psychology, Fundamentals of Addiction and Treatment Approaches to Addiction at Fanshawe College and Introduction to Psychology, Sports Psychology, Behavioral Economics and Lifespan Development at Humber Polytechnic. I was also a faculty supervisor for Addiction and Mental Health program at ILAC college.
How I work and what this means for you?
As your therapist, I begin by creating a safe, confidential, and supportive space where you feel heard and respected. The sessions will be a place where you can speak your mind, be understood, and be supported on your unique journey to healing. Whether you’re facing a difficult moment or simply want to better understand yourself, I will walk alongside you with warmth and empathy, providing tools and insights to help you move forward with confidence and clarity. When we meet for your first session, we will talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and how we can work together to support you. Already in the first few sessions, I want you to have a sense of where you want to be, and how we can get there. I will encourage you to have open and honest conversations with me without worrying how it may sound! My commitment to you is to be honest and transparent. When my clients want to refer me to someone else they usually introduce my as a straight shooter therapist!

Who do I work with?
I work with all sorts of issues. Some of the areas that I have been trained and gained experience are stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, couple therapy, family counselling, relationships and dating, sexual dysfunctions and existential psychotherapy. I don’t believe in years and years of therapy, and instead I will teach you all the skills you need to be able to succeed on your own. I’m here to guide you through your challenges and support your growth toward healing and transformation. My aim is for you to heal from past and present wounds, and create new, healthier patterns in your relationships, regain a sense of trust, both in others and in yourself.
In our sessions, you’ll find a supportive space where you can explore your experiences without fear of judgment. My approach is collaborative and grounded in empathy—I listen deeply, help you regulate overwhelming emotions, and guide you in making meaningful changes at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we’ll uncover patterns that no longer serve you, identify what you truly want, and strengthen your ability to communicate and connect with others.
Therapy with me isn’t about quick fixes or forced positivity—it’s about understanding yourself more fully, healing past wounds, and gaining the confidence to create relationships that align with your values. You deserve to feel secure, empowered, and at peace in your relationships. Let’s work together to make that a reality.
